INTRODUCTION:
When the United States was originally formed it was a lot different then how it is today. Instead of 50 states like we have now, in the beginning we started out with only 13 colonies. Colonial life was challenging and colonists faced many hardships. Where a person lived and their occupation greatly influenced how they lived their life. Think about how your life is now, and imagine how it would be different if you lived in colonial times? Write down what you think your life would be like in colonial times. Where you would live, what kind of job you would have, what kind of clothes you would wear and what kind of foods would you eat are some of the questions you should ask yourself.
Through this Web Quest, students will explore the colonies and people in the early settlements and colonies of the United States of America. The overall intent is for students to understand how our country began and why people settled here, and to gain an appreciation of the challenges colonists faced.
